Board of Directors Meeting – March 23, 2024

President Brian called the meeting to order.

Those present: Elliot Kayser; Marylyn Rudolph; Gerry Callaghan; Bilgin Batman; John Dow; Tim Margolian; Bruce Busby; Fran DeLong; Jean Mackenzie

Absent: John Olsen – out of country; Bill Halliday- out of country; Glen Dexter other commitment.

John moved, and Marylyn seconded, that the Minutes of January 22, 2024 Zoom meeting be approved as circulated. Motion carried.

Old Business

There was much discussion regarding the Unit 194 bridge tables. Fran moved and Gerry seconded, that Charlie continue to be in charge of storage, delivery, etc. Motion carried.

New Business

Bruce Busby would like New Glasgow to host a Bridge Tournament, perhaps alternating with Truro or Port Williams. He suggests either early October or late April. These times would be ‘Off Season’ tourist times, and thus be more affordable for Tournament attendance. More discussion among the Club Tournaments will be needed.

Marylyn suggested all Members have an up-to-date list of Board Members, with their means of contact. Jean will send out such a list.

It was suggested that Club Managers be specifically alerted to upcoming Tournaments. Jean will see to this in the future.

It was suggested that all Clubs be advised to cancel any bridge games that they may have scheduled during a Tournament week.

No further business, Fran moved the meeting adjourn.
